Gaps in Health Care System – Tara

 

There are not enough professional resources in Tara's region.

But in terms of resources in our area there is kind of none. Everything is volunteer based. They got rid of all the maternal mental health re – like, department here in [my region] and rural area. And so now it’s up to this committee to provide, like, groups or, like, events. You know? They have to they have to find funding for it; they have to get grants. You know, so there’s very little in terms of through the health region. From it. It all kind of comes through in a very – what’s the word? Very – there’s a family resource centre and they provide, like, a moms group. You know? They’ll allow this committee to use their Zoom account so that they can be meeting. You know? Like, so it comes in a very – the resources aren’t coming from the health region. And that’s disappointing. Regina has more. Like, and Regina is about 40-50 minutes away. They have a lot more resources. They have perinatal counselling centres there. They have more groups there. But it’s too far. You know? It’s, you know. “So, going back to your question, it’s not – there’s not enough resources. You have to – you have to go through Facebook. Like, that’s what it is. You know? You have to find those Facebook groups, unfortunately.
